Howdy strangers.

Wasn't in the mood to play much today and after looking at some of the other wonderful art here I decided to spend a little time doodling.

Meet Veace, my new(est) Rogue.

I don't usually color or shade since I don't have any decent art programs or fancy Wacom tablets (CINTIQ 12WX *drool*). I pretty much stick with a mechanical pencil and some fine line pens. If I'm still not in the mood for playing tomorrow I probably do something of Braak.

Hello dudes! It's been awhile, but I'm hoping I can get away with making this post here, as it could definitely apply to WoW art. :)

Currently I'm contributing at the help_pakistan livejournal community on the art auction thread, and I've put up a character portrait for bids. If you're interested in commissions and/or helping out with the flood situation, totally place a bid! There are number of artists involved with all sorts of price ranges and styles, so there seems like there's something for everyone.

The auction closes on Saturday, August 28th at midnight. Even if you're not able to bid, passing the word along is a great help, and it would be my birthday and Christmas present.

Here are a couple of doodles I've done. I took the images with a digital camera so the quality is not that great but neither are my drawing skills

The first is back when she still wore her goggles. I'm not sure where I got the idea from, but I think it was the opening/closing shot for a 50's sitcom starring Caeryn.

And a ZC group shot I did a few nights back. (Blah, Sara's face doesn't look that blue on the real thing.)

Y'ALL THINK I'M KIDDING

I can't draw, but I try? Anyway, I thought I'd post some of my sketches of WoW stuff here. Hm yep.

Here's Delacoeur and Melathiel, I drew them for Audrey/Erzullie. I draw a lot of stuff for friends because as you'll soon see, I never come close to making anything remotely finished if I am just doing it for myself. If you ever want to see a finished picture of any of my characters you seriously will have to like request it from me.

Also I don't color. Don't really know how. Anyone want to teach me?

As I was saying, I never finish stuff even remotely for myself. Have a few sketches of Benvolio.

Still working on getting him consistent. Things I'm really sure about are like, the SUPER UNRULY hair, bright, slightly tilted eyes, good nose, etc. I need to draw a full on like, consistency page with body stuff, too.

God, these are like, embarrassing. Durf.

Hello TBDF.

The one day daddy gets to relax and have the house to himself the servers have to be down all day... Unbelieveable.

But at least now I don't have an excuse to get my guild forums up and running so I was checking out the forums and the art section caught my interest.

Hello! I'm extremely new to Thorium Brotherhood, and I joined so I wouldn't feel crushingly lonely while I'm here in Paris, and I've been enjoying the RP stuff a lot more than I thought I would! I did some quick character studies of my blood elf lady, Thierry. They're still not right, but sort of cute.
This was the first drawing I did of her, trying to get the feel for the way she looked.

Some more studies of her face and how her hair behaves.

And a cheesy image I did to get it out of my system. NWS.

Thierry's thing is that she's homeless and not terribly good at anything, except maybe being friendly to the point of fault and making people uncomfortable.

I've only done 2 WoW artz so far, and one of them isn't even finished. I'll finish it someday. In theory.

Here's the finished one. The young adult draenei is a character I RP, finding the character my beloved RP's when that character was an infant.

Here's the one I will finish someday in theory. It's my main, Diederich the Fail Knight. I mean Death Fail. I mean Death Knight. This is him back when he was alive. He was a shadow priest. Note what will someday be his pretty pretty dress. Click for bigger version on deviantart.

Quick sketch of a worgen on the roof. It was supposed to just be a thumbnail to work out the pose for a later picture, but I liked it well enough to keep going with it as it was. That, and I'm lazy. XD

Following the battle, her body was transported back to Azeroth, where she was involuntarily dug up and resurrected as a member of the Forsaken.]

3 hours-ish? This is Silvya when she was still alive. Now she's a twisted Undead Blood Elf Paladin [A Death Knight :P] Her ingame name is Siylvanis (There's a reasoning behind it, trust me), throw me a whisper for a rp or something :D

To spruce up the LiveJournal Community page and layout, I thought we'd have a little art contest for a Header image and matching/complementary LJ icon for the community.

So, here are the rules:
1. The cutoff for entry into the contest will be 11:59PM EST on July 22. This means you have one month from Monday to submit your artwork.

2. The dimensions for the header should be 200 pixels high, 800 pixels wide. The icon should be 100x100 and follow LJs other usual rules for avatars. Both should be in jpg or gif format.

3. You may use original artwork of your own, Blizz art offered for fan sites, free use stock images, WoW Model Viewer, or photoshopped screenshots, but nothing copyrighted to someone other than yourself, unless offered under a Creative Commons non-attribution license.

4. The header and icon should illustrate that this is a community, and not give preference to horde or alliance or one particular character over others.

You may use any colors, fonts, etc you wish, I will change the colors of the theme to complement the winner's header.

When all entries are in, the winner will be determined by popular vote. You may post your entries here, email them to me at jenwrites at gmail, or post them to the LJ community. When the deadline passes I will post a gallery of all of the entries for voting purposes.

So, I've had this idea before, but wanted to try it again. If this isn't a good place for this, please do not hesitate to move/remove this topic.

This is an experiment to see what comes out of a community project. It requires a one thing though to participate, somewhere you can host an image. Photobucket or the like is fine.

So, lets start, shall we? We start with this image. Simple isn't it? Just a color 800x600 image.

What you do is:
1) 'Check Out' this image by posting to this thread that you are checking it out.
2) Edit this image however you want!
3) Upload it to your picture hosting.
4) Edit your check out post to include the image and say you're done to this thread using an img tag so others can see it and continue the experiment!

I know, it could turn out stupid, or wonderful. I'm just curious if anything will happen with it! Try it out! You don't have to be a good artist do do anything, just participate!

Yeah, mods can remove this thread if they want to. BUt this struck me as kind of interesting.

Ever wonder just HOW a Tauren's horns meet up with their skulls? How about exactly where those silly Draenei legs bend and at what angle?

Have you ever found a picture and went "Holy shit, so THAT'S how the Troll's tusks fit in!"? If you have a great reference image that you think is very prepresentative of a race or class (such as armor or something), feel free to post it here. It doesn't have to be your work, but give credit to the original artist if you're posting someone else's stuff!

Please note, this thread isn't just for pictures you like. It's for those pictures that make you go "Hot damn, I'm using this for a reference next time I draw a ____!" Feel free to post up your own pictures as well. This is just to help out those of us that aren't anatomically-abled. >_o

To start us out, I found this gem on the official WoW fanart page by otherdane of deviantART. Not only are they of a very good proportion (this is an excellent picture of height/size ratios I feel), but they actually look exactly what I think the races should look like. I'm in love with the Troll and Dwarf, especially.
